Ballydown at the Waterfront
Last night our choir had the most amazing experience at the Waterfront Hall, where they performed at The D-Day 75 Concert.
Diary of the day
We had a very busy day having left school at 2:30pm. We then had an afternoon of rehearsals with the Royal Irish Regiment Band. It was fanscinating watching a live orchestra practising. We had lots of sounds checks and practises to the orchestra, which made us all feel very professional. We then had some time to get our positioning sorted and find out where we would enter and exit the stage. It was interesting watching our host Pamela Ballantine practising her lines.
It was then time for something to eat and get ourselves ready for our big performance.
The evening performance was fabulous. We got to watch the first half, which told the story of the war up to D-Day through music and dance. We were then taken off back stage to get ready to perform in the second half. Our performance went perfectly! Alexandra and James did a super job with their solo parts.
What an achievement for Ballydown School Choir! A night to remember for us all.
A huge thank you to Mrs Coulter for leading our choir and to all the teachers who accompanied the children for the day.
