Ballydown Primary School makes Science Count!
Primary 7 pupils visited W5 this week as part of Northern Bank Science Counts, an exciting education partnership with W5, Northern Ireland’s award winning interactive discovery centre. Pupils were treated to a fun maths problem solving workshop by the educational team from W5 as well as getting the opportunity to enjoy over 200 hands-on exhibits. Dr Sally Montgomery, Chief Executive of W5 explained, “Ballydown Primary School’s visit to W5 is part of the Northern Bank Science Counts programme which is a huge hit with schools and allows us to reach pupils across Northern Ireland showing the fun and excitement of science and maths, develops very positive attitudes to science and maths in young people and highlights how relevant STEM subjects are to children’s lives.”
According to Rhonda Gibson, External Relations Manager Northern Bank, “Northern Bank Science Counts allows business and education to work together to encourage our youngest learners to become confident with maths and science. It is one of a number of Northern’s community initiatives which make learning fun and straightforward.”Ballydown Primary School, 64 Lisnaree Road, Banbridge, Co. Down N.
