Girls Hockey Tournament
Our girls hockey team took part in the McCloy Cup tournament at Newry Hockey Club. The girls played so well, fighting their way through tough rounds, winning 4 matches, to get to the semi finals against Spa primary. This was a very strong match, which went to golden goal and then penalty flicks. Winning this match put Ballydown girls through to the final against Dromore Central. Unfortunately we lost out to Dromore, who played extremely well to win the tournament (Mrs Murphy was delighted to beat Mr Murphy’s team!!!!). Having got to the final this means that the girls have qualified for the NI finals at the end of the month. Despite the freezing conditions we enjoyed a fantastic day of hockey from the girls and another set of silver medals, to match the boys from yesterday. A big thank you to our parent coaches and so lovely to see so many parents along to support the team. Very well done girls 🏑⭐️
