Great Outdoors Club
The rain didn’t stop us having another action packed afternoon in our school grounds this week.
P2 brought multi-coloured leaves to school and used them with all the branches , twigs and sticks we have gathered to make our own forests.
We talked about planting trees and the importance of woods , forests and even jungles for nature and wildlife. Secret entrances , tunnels and paths into our creations were built and we even ended up having a swamp at one point full of muddy fun. The colourful Autumn leaves added a lovely golden touch to our individual and group builds.
Meanwhile, the P3 children spent the time making feeders for the birds. They threaded cheerios onto string to hang from the trees as well as filling orange halves to hang.
We made a mix of unsalted butter, bird seed (no nuts), meal worms, breadcrumbs and porridge oats and hope to attract even more types of birds than the Primary 2’s!
