Our World Around Us Topic is birds. We are thinking about all our feathered friends and in playtime we are birdwatching in Spring, identifying and drawing garden birds, writing bird books, making bird feeders and bird houses out of bricks and Lego, making nests in the sand tray and creating pictures of the countryside using dough. At the art area we are painting birds and making clay birds. During tabletop play we are building jigsaws, sorting birds using different mathematical diagrams and we are labelling birds at the literacy area. In the small world areas we are using our imagination in the farmyard, the pond in the water tray and we are retelling the story of Noah’s Ark.
