Secretary of State for NI
A group of our P7 children were invited to represent the school and to perform at a reception hosted by the Secretary of State for NI, Chris Heaton-Harris. This event was held at The Game of Thrones Studios. The event was to mark the 25th anniversary of The Good Friday Agreement and to celebrate the success of Northern Ireland over the past 25 years. Our P7 children performed a selection of songs from their upcoming play, 'Oh What a Knight', and also performed a poem written especially for the occassion. Also attending the event was The Irish Tánaiste Micheál Martin. Ballydown pupils did us proud and in the words of The Lord Lieutenant of Tyrone, were the highlight of the evening! The Secretary of State was also so impressed by our pupils that he has offered to pay the school a visit, to meet the rest of the children.
We were delighted also to be joined by some parents/guardians of the group and the biggest excitement was that a double decker bus picked us up and took us to the event! A great evening for Ballydown.
